Guitar Baby

This viral video has racked up more than 1.2 million views since going on YouTube June 6, a baby rocks out to the Black Keys with the help of CGI.

The viral video shows no reference to Ubisoft or Rocksmith. Rocksmith won’t be available for several months, we can only assume that Ubisoft are behind this clever promo for the game.

CH Video: Jean Touitou from Cool Hunting on Vimeo.

The past decade has seen A.P.C. grow from a cult French label to a brand recognized the world over for clothes that deftly mix contemporary style with classic looks—all the while helmed by founder Jean Touitou since 1988. Curious about what has kept the line going strong throughout its gradual expansion, for this video Cool Hunting sat down with Touitou to find out.

Baguette ha ha ha

My favourite quote this week came from a far from sober, French Russell Brand lookalike wannabe rock star...as he announced to me rather loudly in front of his fellow countrymen...and women...

“Bread is useless...”

...but did I try to connect with any of them?  ;-)
And a round up of the other wind-ups...
The Sun - “Planet of the apps” in which primates have been handed iPads to keep them entertained whilst cooped up in their pens.

The Telegraph  - reports that Labour party members have been instructed by party high command to stage a real party, complete with bunting, street parties and trifles, to celebrate the forthcoming wedding of their leader, Ed Milliband. The name of the Labour party official behind this tacky party? Flora Lopi.

They also feature a top ten list of the “silliest walks” in Britain, including such gems as Kiss me arse steps, Cock-up bridge and Scrubby Bottoms. The paper claims it isn’t trying to lead anyone up the garden path.

Invisible NYC

Singularities: Invisible NYC from 3sixteen on Vimeo.

Invisible NYC isn't your average street shop: lodged in a sublevel storefront in NYC's Lower East Side, it's relatively unassuming from the outside. And that's exactly how the team likes it, because this is not the place to get a tattoo on a whim. Just as you'd expect your tattoo artist to approach each project with advance preparation and research, Invisible NYC thrives off customers who do the same. Founder Troy Denning has assembled a strong roster of world-class artists who are highly sought after without any sort of advertising or promotion. The secret to their business is simple: offer top notch service to clients which results in continuous word-of-mouth referrals.

Victorinox & Christopher Raeburn

Premiered during New York Fashion Week, the Swiss lifestyle brand has hooked up with the young Brit designer for an edgy and well-made capsule collection of reused army fabrics for the luxury market.

In an inspired move, Swiss luxe alpine wear brand and pocket knife experts Victorinox have hired Brit designer Christopher Raeburn to design a capsule collection for Autumn Winter 2011. Consisting of only eight pieces - one of which is Raeburn's own take on the famous Swiss army knife - the young London creative has managed to merge his forward thinking design aesthetic with the heritage and tradition of the 127 year old brand. 'Remade in Switzerland' is the result of Raeburn travelling to Victorinox's home country to go through an extensive number of army surplus stores in Ibach, the birthplace of Victorinox founder Karl Elsener. Not only did Raeburn source the fabrics for his collection there, but he also managed to find the original house in which Elsener started the brand, and it was there that Raeburn chose to establish his Swiss LAB to produce the 100 pieces of each style by hand.

S&M Rihanna Style

Get ready for S&M...

Rihanna's new music video S&M has just come out - and it's apparently so raunchy that YouTube have put an "inappropriate" flag on it!

Rihanna uses it as a stage to take a hit at the press, wearing a newspaper print gown and being kidnapped by journalists as headlines run over the screen... she writhes around dressed in latex, tied up in ropes, and...eats a banana...

What do you think?

No prizes for guessing the experts tips on this one, apparently one of the main obstacles in viewing the moon taking a big bite out of the sun will be clouds...no really!

Anyway, if you are lucky enough to get a glimpse take great care and be sure to wear some proper solar glasses.

There are some pretty neat tools and gadgets here to figure out the best time to view the partial eclipse in your neighbourhood -
