After a trip to the shops to pick up some laxatives, Spears was sectioned and taken to hospital, she was then discharged against the recommendation of her psychiatrist and her parents.
Spears slipped out of the hospital unnoticed by the paparazzi, they later hunted her down as she left home, driving her Mercedes to the Beverly Hills Hotel.
